CHAPTER 11. PUBLIC OFFENSESCHAPTER 11. PUBLIC OFFENSES\Article 1. Uniform Offense Code

There is hereby incorporated by the reference for the purpose of regulating public offenses within the corporate limits of the City of Mount Hope, Kansas that certain code known as the Uniform Public Offense Code for Kansas Cities, Edition 2022, prepared and published in book form by the League of Kansas Municipalities, Topeka, Kansas, save and except certain articles, sections, parts or portions as are hereafter omitted, deleted, modified or changed. One (1) copy of said Uniform Public Offense Code shall be marked or stamped Official Copy as Adopted by Ordinance 272-2023, with all sections or portions thereof intended to be omitted or changed clearly marked to show and such omission or change and to which shall be attached a copy of this section or said ordinance, and filed with the City Clerk to be open to inspection and available to the public at all reasonable hours.

The Uniform Public Offense Code for Kansas Cities is hereby supplemented by adding thereto the following new article:

Article 10.  ADDITIONAL PROVISIONS.

and by adding thereunder the following sections:

Section 7.  UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF ELECTRONIC STUNNING DEVICE.

(a)   It is unlawful to carry on one’s person, in any land, water or air vehicle, with intent to use unlawfully, an electronic stunning device which could be used or intended for use to incapacitate another.  This includes stun gun and stun batons.  This does not include the carrying of prods designed for the humane use in the control of livestock.
