AN ORDINANCE REPEALING CHARTER ORDINANCE NO. 83-1 AND DIRECTING THAT HENCEFORTH THERE WILL BE PRIMARY ELECTIONS FOR THE OFFICES OF MAYOR AND COUNCILMEN PURSUANT TO K.S.A. § 25-2108a.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF MOUNT HOPE, KANSAS:

Section 1. That the City of Mt. Hope by Charter Ordinance No. 83-1 exempted itself from primary elections pursuant to K.S.A. § 25-2108a, and such Charter Ordinance is now effectively repealed.

Section 2. That beginning with the primary election to be held in February of 2003 the City of Mt. Hope shall henceforth have primary elections as needed. The first primary election to be February 25, 2003 and each municipal election thereafter as needed pursuant to K.S.A. § 25-2108a or as otherwise specified or amended by statute.
